Countdown to the Fall Festival

Two weeks from this Sunday CrossPoint will be hosting her annual Fall Festival. For those of you who have never participated in this event, I need to alert you—IT’S HUGE!

You will be amazed at the mass number of people who will be on our campus. I am predicting a crowd of 2500 or more. Last year we estimated a number approaching 1800. I think there will be more people this year due to the growth of our visibility as a church as well as due to the heavy publicity associated with the festival.

As we prepare for this great event, I want to provide a few reminders:
  • DONATE CANDY. We need large bags of individually wrapped candy. Drop off your candy in the orange containers located throughout the facility.
  • VOLUNTEER. An event this size requires hundreds of volunteers. Please let us know where and how you plan to volunteer. You may register at the Fall Festival display in the front concourse near the worship center.
  • BUY A T-SHIRT. On this particular day we want every CrossPointer to buy and wear a CrossPoint t-shirt so people know who we are. Plus, the t-shirt makes us much more accessible to our guests.
  • INVITE SOMEONE. Invite everyone you know to our Fall Festival. Worship guide inserts will be available this Sunday and next for you to distribute to your friends and neighbors.
  • WITNESS. The Fall Festival is a major outreach event for CrossPoint. Throughout the evening, find ways to direct your conversations toward Christ. You will be amazed how responsive most people will be.
  • MINISTER. Every year I make my way through the crowd looking for ways to minister to people and to answer their questions about CrossPoint. Since all of us are ministers, we must be prepared to do the same thing.
  • FELLOWSHIP. Find a way to meet and befriend new CrossPointers during this time of outreach and ministry.

A young couple with one child and another one on the way approached me last Wednesday night after CrossPoint University. They told me they learned about CrossPoint thanks to last year’s Fall Festival. They said it was the festival that created interest in their hearts about our church. A few weeks later they worshiped with us, and not long after that they joined our family of faith. I imagine that story can be repeated over and over many times.
